just wondering what peoples opinions are on what is the best all round basher monster truck. Im not looking for something to race. Doesnt need to be the fastest. I want strong, reliable, common enough for parts to be stocked, and not insanly priced

Look up TRAXXAS and HPI lines, they fit your needs like a glove.

Go with a savage from working in a hobby shop they are very durable and usually things break only from being really slammed. Go with either the 4.6 if you want to save some money or go for the big 5.9, the 5.9 has enough power to put itself on it's roof, you might want to change the tires if you go for the 5.9 they tend to curl up in turns in general i find them sloppy but by all means there a suitable basher tire. Revo's handle great but by design there not meant to get bashed to hard but they are a lot of fun if you want have fun and still have a truck that'll turn with 4 wheels on the ground. The most important thing is to make sure your local shop carries parts for the truck, almost all shops carry HPI stuff so you can likely get parts easily, Traxxas stuff is kept in stock at most shops probably to a lightly lower degree but it's probably the second or third most common manufactures that shops carry.
