you would never run a diesel in a model truck. all engines are nitro or if youre running large scale, a 2 stroke fuelie.

the nitro motors we run are also called diesel or glow motors on other parts of the world, as they are designed based on the diesel engine or glow engine.

you could run a diesel in whatever you like there are companies that have been making scale diesel conversions for years humn Davis diesel for one. It is primarily used in aircraft but is a niche market as the fuel is hard to come by unless you refine it yourself.
The application does not really lend itself to cars or trucks unless there are more than two gears so you can take advantage of the low down torque. but even then not really worth the hassle, which I think is what others tried to say.
research people lol
decided to edit as the last time I was on http://www.davisdieseldevelopment.com/ it was a far different site and it seems there has been much developement for rc trucks and cars!
so all I will say is do reasearch before you reply people.

I have seen video os a Savage I believe that had one of the davis diesel conversions on it. Kind of neat but it seemed slower to me. I think that if there was a gearing change it might be alright. However as stated above I'm not really sure that it would be all the worthwhile doing... plus you loose the smell of nitro and replace it with the "stink" of diesel.....

At least I don't like the smell...

Diesel is only good if you're interested in pulling stumps.
