And I spent many hours chatting with Carlton (RC Pro) about lipos. I've just lost the desire to fight about stuff. Lipo/brushless has brought electric racing back into being.

Treating the class like a red headed step child has hurt it for too long. racing has all been catered to the nitros over time. I started in electric. everyone got the same amount of track time for the same money. Then the electrics were getting 5 mins runtime and 45 mins of corner marshalling. who wouldn't switch over. and many many of the electric guys faded away.

some of those guys are great drivers and they would come back to run brushless instead of nitro, if they got a fair deal at least. bunch them together until there are enough guys to have a seperate class. many of the nitro guys might even add a brushless as a second rc since they can share parts or vs vs... so something that would create more involvement with the current racers AND bring in new people that don't want to go nitro yet AND possibly bring back racers of days past has to be a good thing. and lets be honest. everyone wants to race against their peers. we race to have a challenge. what fun is racing with 5 guys when you could be bunched into a group of say 30?

don't get me wrong, I am not trying to bash ROAR perse' but rules and ideals need to somewhat keep up with technology. it can't be based on sponsors, sponsors need to keep up too . Don Ropcean in Canada has his head on right at least and understands racing and fun. When talking to people down south I heard a lot about old tech and the non willingness to change. I don't have enough skull tissue left from being a goalie to be banging my head against walls

I stated how I personally felt on the other thread but one thing to consider if you run them together.

My batteries last safely 10 minutes. So if I am in a 45 minute A Main I would need 5 batteries as the batteries take apx hour 1/2 each to charge. So the first one that came off would be ready to go again 45 minutes after the race is over. At a cost of $300 a battery you are looking at $1,500 (ouch) in batteries to run an A Main!! My 2 cents

re battery cost

i can run my e-revo brushless for 45 minutes with a pair of smc 2s 9000mah.

if i have my settings up higher i might have to come in for one stop to change the batteries.

cost of my batteries to run the a main = $199.99 x 2
