Ok as a few of you may know and some of you are new to racing still there is a CORCS national being held in Kamloops Sept. long weekend.
This is the big one that many wait for and want to go to. Well it is all set now and the race is a go so get yer glow plugs ready, your tired glued and throttle return devices attached because this will be one fun race.
Yours truly will be the RD for this race and during the race I am taking the directors hat off. It will be up to the remaining CORCS directors to ensure cars are legal and drivers are playing fair.
I anticipate a couple of drivers may not agree with me running this race but to them and all others I will say this. I am there to run a race as smoothly and efficiently as possible. My duty is to the race and to keeping it as fun as possible, adding some color to the commentary and keeping it on schedule so we can enjoy a dinner at a decent time and get home without running into the AM hours.
I have been to many races south of the border and while we are not trying to emulate their races I see some things they do that we should be doing. They run on schedule and if the race is to be on the line by x o'clock it starts right then. A race this big should not have anyone needing an extra 5 minutes to be rady since there will be plenty of time during other qualies when you are not racing to get things done.
There will be a car impound, once you race you put the car in impound and grab a vest to corner the same as last year in Kamloops.
Top three cars in finishing order will be inspected post race and all cars will be inspected prior to start of qualifiers. So if your car is legal before racing begins then it should remain that way.
Once I have a complete list of how many heats there are going to be I will have a schedule set out for all to see so people can figure out what time things will be done, breaks etc.
Once again I will repeat , I am there to run a race not do directors duties during the race. If there is a problem the other directors will deal with it as needed, should my help be needed it will happen between rounds or end of day.
I encourage you all, old drivers and new to come to this race and experience what I am going to call a new look for CORCS (hint , this means there will be changes made to suit drivers for next year)
