FG Monster truck problem

       Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
is this a common problem for FG Monster truck to break steel differential spur gear this is the second time it broke including the reinforced version. any help on solving this dilima or suggestion is greatly appreciated thx

A couple things can cause this to happen. First is the layshaft gear coming loose. file the grubscrew flat where it contacts the layshaft so more contact area and loktite back into place. also make sure you have enough spacing from the bearing to the layshaft gear. I used a bearing with a smaller OD as a spacer.

second cause is motor mount screws coming loose and the motor moves. some 2 sided tape under the mount helps, aluminum mounts help too.

last the chassis flexing. I made a brace that helps with flex and motor mount issues. it connects from the back bulkhead to the extra mounting spot on the engine. I can actually remove the motor mount screws and the engine pretty much stays in place with this bracket on

thus are great ideas ill do the same modification to my truck hopefully this will solve the problem thank you so much
