Hey guys,

Got to see my first race this past weekend and seen a few people flame out i guess its called.

Why don't you see pullstarts on the race track? I mean ideally it would be a matter of just sticking the heater on and a tug and your off.. No running the kit back to the pit area messing with the starter box and stuff?

Is there a reason for it.. sorry i just simply don't know.

These motors are high performance and have tons of pinch. Thus you need the torque of a starterbox to turn the engine over. If these engines had pull start, a) it might take longer to start b) the one way will ware out faster and it's not a quick fix. starter box put it on the box, put glow ignite in, and push down and it's starts fast! The pull start would have some uses but, you can have it all lol.

Its illegal for marshalls to fix or do anything to the car on the race track. If there is a problem it must be dealt with by the pit man in the pit lane area. Starter boxes are way easier to get a car going than yanking away at a pull start.

pull starts also break fairly easy. i had one last year at hardcore for a race and the cord snapped while i was trying to restart it.. also my handle melted because it just bounces around and got stuck to the muffler..

Pull starts > more parts, less performance overall, higher center of gravity, heavier, unrealible and they only "spin" the engine as fast as you can pull the recoil.
