By looking at your Signature, first you will have to get something to race. I just started racing in 2010. I just showed up at a local club and signed up. It was a tough day with no pit man, but I had a blast. I wasn't first, but there were a few guys slower than me.
Are you interested in electric or nitro?

Well Kenny, it's VERY simple. Here's what I suggest you do...

Attend one or two races (dates and locations found on this site), and make it a point of spectating, and asking questions of the racers. Additionally, watch the way things work, and learn from it.

Don't be afraid to ask a zillion questions while your there, from varying people, and don't be afraid of asking "stupid questions". We ALL asked them when we started!!!

Lastly, keep an eye on the different types of cars that are at the race, and try to pick the one(s) that might appeal to you. All the manufacturers have things to offer, whether it's value, appearance, features, etc. One things almost certain though, and that's that all major manufacturers produce competitive cars, and you really can't go wrong regardless which direction you end up going with respect to the car(s) of your choice. That leads me to my final point...

Be sure to take the new found information you've gotten from the races, into your local hobby store (or store of choice), and see what they have to offer as faar as manufacturers are concerned. You'll want a store that offers an abundance of parts for a specific brand(s), as you WILL need to continually service the car you buy. In fact, consider buying your car there too. There are however, many good deals to be had on the forums 'for sale' section. Happy shopping!

The GLORCS series is offering something called the 'mentor program' beginning in 2011. In short, you'll be able to attend your first races (after acquiring your car and field equipment) and pit/race with one of a loooong list of qualified and experienced racers. THEY will ensure that you have a successful and fun weekend, and will also teach you the ropes as the weekend unfolds.

I guess that just about does it. Hope to see you at the races, and if you have ANY questions whatsoever, feel free to PM me, or ask. I'm on the list of mentors sooo... HAHA...
