Arceenut is correct. If you put your input/output of your regulator on an oscilloscope, with a variable power supply on the input, you will see as you increase the voltage on the input to 7 volts, you will see a corresponding rise in the output until the input side reaches the minimum input voltage of 7 volts, at which point, you should see your 5 volt output. As you increase to an input of 15 volts, you will maintain the 5 volt output.

EDIT: I just noticed that somehow, I missed the entire second page of this thread LOL.
