Unhappy Prop hub assembly

Hi folks,

I have a DLA-56 that needs the prop hub assembly replaced...threads stripped. I have a new one on the way, but does anyone have suggestions on how to go about removing the old one. Specifically which way does the retaining bolt turn...some turn CW and others CCW. Should I apply any heat to the old hub? Will I need a puller tool to remove it? Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Prop hub assembly

My 2c worth. most likely going to have right hand threads ( Opposite of engine rotation, Always wanting to go tight when engine runs). Some engines might use a thread locker on the stud. Puller will most likely be needed, but seeing how you are replacing the hub, you do not neet to worry if it gets hurt. If it is a single stud, double nut and turn it out, If not, you may have to chuck up in a vice ( soft jaws if possible) to get the retaining bolt out. If useing heat, be careful, you do not want to damage the seal behind the hub ( 2 stokes don't run well with vacume leaks in crankcase.)
