my brand new Racers Edge Pro 2 RTR + battery + charger was 375 tax in. that gave me about 45-60 min of run time. If you want to stay within budget, you might want to look in to buying something used off kijiji.

as for durability, that depends on how you drive it. all rc cars break. some more than others but the best thing to do is find out what the local hobby shops carry for lines of replacement parts and look for something in one of those lines.

As for new suggestions you can go with the Associated SC10 or the Losi XXX. both come as rolling chassis/kit or RTR. Might be able to find them used as well. Replacement parts are available for both at HotRod Hobbies. I've been quite happy with my Pro2 there were some initial issues with bad plastic geared servos but Racers Edge has since started distributing them with metal geared servos. I upgraded mine since I didn't want to wait for the warranty replacement. Replacement parts are available at both Hobby shops here in hamilton. they don't have many in stock but they can be easily ordered. Chris's House has upgrades in stock for them.
