Magnum Gp 40 Carb

I have a Magnum GP 40 that has seen better days. I had it in a telemaster and it was bulletproof...until it crashed into the water because "someone" forgot to check the radio batteries...I've since spoken to the dog to step up his game!

I never really liked the needle setup but I am pretty sure it is the source of my high end cutouts, letting in air and leaning out.

Is there a "bolt on" OS needle setup that will work, or is it going to be just as easy to replace the whole carb. I've seen the OS 40D, but I would need to get the remote needle setup for it to work.

Re: Magnum Gp 40 Carb

One of my engines has a bad "o" ring on the needle and when I run it the fuel leaks out of it not the air in, because of the muffler pressure. Look for another source of your running problem.

Re: Magnum Gp 40 Carb

Measure the part of the carb that fits into the motor with a dial indicator and also measure the inside of the venchuri in 1000ths of an inch. Then you may find a carb to fit the Magnum Gp 40 lying around.I have some Super Tiger motors running with Webra carbs, and some Webra carbs on Gms etc .Be carefull that this criss crossing does not become a habit as some times it is surprising what happens. It can be a + to performance or a determent on some occasiions.Be carefull of the seating O ring,MAKE SURE IT IS A POSITIVE SEAL or funny things can happen!
