Hey guys I am looking at building a fun plane for this spring called the "Canadian Bug" designed by Laddie Mikulasko. It looks like a giant dragonfly and the plans were drawn up in the early 2000's. I want to use a modern equivalent to the following:
Speed 400 electric motor with a 2:1 gearbox
eight cell battery pack (1100 mAh)
swings a 9 x 5 prop at a max 10 to 11A
This tandem wing design has a wingspan of 44 inches and was flying with the old school electric setup at 30 oz.
If you can give me suggestions as to the exact components I should buy I would appreciate it!

- A turnigy 2217 motor, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idproduct=5690
-A 40 amp ESC, look at one of these, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...to_79_Amp.html
-A battery = 3 cell, 2200, 25c zippy.
All of these are avaiable from hobbyking...
