The DX8 just fits my hands better I find. But if you link to tinker the 9x is certainly a good option. There is also an Orange module from HobbyKing for it now for DSM2/DSM support.
I can't compare since i've never used a DX8, but it's a good option to throw out since most people don't want to invest $500 in a radio when they first start out. The unit itself is far from perfect and likely not as polished as the high end brands, but you CAN compare it to something like the DX8, which says a lot. Now looking at anything near the fully modded price of the 9x, you're getting a ton more for the price, which makes it an even better option if you're looking to get something cheap (6i for example).

Re: Walkera Ladybird

Feature wise it is probably better than a DX8 as you can pretty much make it do anything you want. Quality and feel wise is where I notice the difference however, the DX8 just feels much nicer and smoother. It also depends if you want to mess with firmware flashing and mods, is so then the 9x is definitely the way to go if you want lots of features on a budget.

Re: Walkera Ladybird

Sorry to hi-jack the thread again....

I'd still go with the Walkera Devo 8S ... the interface is incredibly well thought out, and you can easily make it do just about anything with an easy to navigate touch screen.

The 'feel' and quality of the controller is on par or better than the DX8 IMHO. I've sold a LOT of the Devo 8S and 6S and have only received positive reviews from customers. To a guy like me who started out with Walkera as they were going through 'growing pains' and quality issues a few years ago, this was shocking to me. I have say, Walkera as a manufacturer has learned and matured a lot over the last few years and can definitely compete with the big boys now.
