Need help with replacement battery pack
Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
I recently bought a small park type flyer with a GSW EPU-7 geared motor
The kit was older NIB
Anyway came with the battery (pictured below) which of course has long sense leak and is no good
I used a AAA full size battery beside the pack for size reference(The pack is made of 2/3 size AAA)
Back to my question
What can I use as direct replacement for this battery in a lipo battery?
And Where to Buy?

Re: Need help with replacement battery pack
The motor is a Maxx Products N60 with an EPU-7 gearbox. This is very similar to the popular GWS IPS power systems. It's best suited to small models under 8oz AUW.
As for a battery, a 2S (2 cell, 7.4V) lipo with a capacity from 400-800mAh is ideal. (Note: This motor will not handle a 3 cell 11.1V lipo). If you are looking for a place to buy them, here are a few suggestions:

You didn't say what you have for a speed controller (ESC). Brushed ESC's are hard to find nowadays, and it's even harder to find ones that have a decent low-voltage cutoff (LVC) to protect the Lipo from over-discharge which is very bad for the battery.
Here are a few suggestions:

If you intend on using a brushed ESC you may already have, then you must pay very close attention and time your flights to avoid over discharging your batteries. If you don't have one already, get a battery checker to measure the pack voltage before/after every flight and adjust your flight times accordingly.
