We have a 2 meter glider with a motor/ prop combo that pulls 80 watts at full song. With a 2000mah pack we get 45 minutes flight time in dead air.

Of course that is with using the motor to get to high start altitude & then shut it off to search for thermals. Driving it around the sky at a constant power setting you would get less time.
Hang time does not apply to ceiling fans, light fixtures, overhead door tracks or basketball nets!

Re: Motor strong enough

I have a Spectra which I bought used and when I saw how heavy the supplied motor was I swapped it for an E Flite 10, and so far I use a conventional 10-7 prop (will order some folding props over the winter). I use a 3S1500 35C battery & it climbs vertically quite nicely. I've got a lot of use out of it because it's so easy to grab it & get in the air quickly.
