all the "N" struts are regular "thin wall" streamline tubing but the attach points are made from aluminum, 1/4" that has been shaped to fit inside the tubing about 3/4" at each end, I found that the structure was pretty sturdy when all assembled, and then the "X" brace cables and turnbuckles really made the rigging strong! I had 2-56 size pull-pill cable for the cross bracing originally but after pounding pretty good in some big waves (windy day!) there was a bit of stress and one cable snapped, so I re-rigged it with 4-40 cable hdwr.
The spreader bars were streamline tube with a piece of 1/8X1/2 aluminum ran through the center (from Canadian Tire) for the extra strength....I wouldn't try to fly without that, the spreader bars needed the extra beef but the "N" struts haven't given me ant problems.
think the secret is the rigging cables....just like the full scale
