Alright: Another question since I am on a roll (not literally a "roll").

A positive snap entry to an Immleman; should the plane be brought back to level flight after the snap and just before the big old pull up over the top?

This came up a few years back and since I have to do one this season, I would like to get it right, or at least make it appear right.

Re: How and tricks for IMAC maneuvers

I'll take a run at this: since there is not supposed to be any visible length of line after the snap and the beginning of the Immelmann my answer would be no. Any time spent bringing the plane back to straight and level would also be drawing a line. I guess the trick is to finish the snap in such a way that the plane is pretty much straight and level to begin with. Comments??

Re: How and tricks for IMAC maneuvers

Thanks Gordon:

The main reason I asked this one is that there were a few pilots that would do the snap at one particular contest, and finish it nose up slightly and then just continue up into the arc. I was relative new to judging and docked points for this and so the discussion began at dinner that evening. Some said that the plane had to be brought back to level with an acceptable side shift while others argued that the nose up finish and continuing up from there was OK. I'm still not sure which is correct but my gut feeling still is that the plane should be level just before pulling the upwards arc.

Open for comments.
