A thread for a beginner...

I was just wondering if there is a thread on this forum that perhaps runs down the basics and the components of an RC car for a beginnner?
I was searching but can't find much.
I thought having a thread that gives the basic info on the components and how they work together would be really good... well at least for me. LOL
Perhaps if you don't have something like this someone would like to provide their time and knowledge to write something like this up?
Just a thought...

Re: A thread for a beginner...
It would take a great deal of time to break down every component on every type of RC car.
If you go through some of the manuals available online (here's the one for my newest car http://www.teamxray.com/t4/download/ ), they would give you much of the basics, but there are a lot of different ways of doing things too (shaft drive/belt drive, ball diff/gear diff, etc, etc) You'd need to look at many different types to get a broad knowledge.
Have a look on amainhobbies.com at all the cars, pick one you like and then do a google search for that car's name + manual.
There are some good videos on youtube too. Search for RC protips with Jilles Groskamp. Some great maintenance tips and instructions on things like rebuilding shocks.
