electric/or nitro high wing trainer. R/c simulators if you can afford that too, if not, the old buddy box system works good too. (trainer cord between 2 transmitters, teacher gives you control and can take it away at a flip of a switch....)
we have all this stuff..... PM if you need help "getting off the ground",
learn all this other stuff as you go....

Hobbyzone Super Cub, or for something small to take anywhere, Hobbyzone Champ. Both easy to fly and parts readily available. Prices are decent too, with the Champ RTF at $90, and the Super Cub RTF at $200. I have both, and even with several 4-6 channel planes, I still like to fly them.

Re: Newbie from Brantford

I have been flying a HZ super cub for 2 months now. sturdy plane lots of parts at the lhs for it.
For the first week or so thought I had made a mistake. First flight 9 seconds and nose first into the pavement. 12 dollars later all better.
second flight got her up good but was windy the plane got down wind and high.
I could not fly it back toward me. As it got higher and higher and farther away I finally shut the tx off and let it find its own way down.
After 2 hrs of trudging throw knee deep snow I finally found it. more flights and crashes ensued but now the crashes are rare and I have worked my way up to flying at up to 19km winds.
The HZ cub has been a fun plane for me and cheap and easy to repair. The availability to get parts for the plane you choose would be the biggest selling feature to me cause you will need them.
Funny thing is the sale's man at the lhs never used that as a selling point! I don't think he wanted to make me feel like I might crash it strait off
