The engine will be a DLA 32cc with the DLE 30 canister exhaust.

Servos will be High Voltage Hitecs running off of an unregulated LiPo.

Thinking of running the servos and the ignition off of the same battery pack, any opinion on this? I know its been done before, just wondering if anyone has had a problem doing it.

Hello sir. I've ran my 30%(50cc) extra on 1 2200 mah a123(life) batt for 3 summers now. one pack tapped to rec and ign with a dle 55 and its been flawless! i also ran my 35% edge 540 with 2 2200 a123's (1 was tapped for ign) and it seamed fine also. its nice to only have one batt to worry about. lol good luck on your build its looking grt!!!!

Re: Goldwing 30cc Yak 55m Assembly

a couple of thing you should know about he gold wing kits . I have a 100cc goldwing 55 that I picked up as a fixer upper after the first owner did some damage to it in the air at a fun fly, when doing a snap roll you could hear from the ground a big pop he leveled off and landed the plane ,with the rushed landing but not a hard landing the the landing gear ripped out. I purchased the plane as a fixer upper as it was next to new ,what I found was the loud pop was the wing tube forcing the main spars apart in the wing . It seems they did not find it necessary to join the 2 spars at the end of the wing tube .I had to fab up some plywood braces and glue & clamp them to both sides of the main spars at the end of the wing tube to stop the force of the wing tube spreading them , there are only 3 1/16" thick light ply ribs supporting the wing tube, they were all fractured . second . the landing gear is only supported by a aluminum block as wide as the gear it's self ,seeing as the bolt pattern is not even as wide as the brace it is no wonder the rear let go . I removed the small brackets and installed 6" long ones to spread the force along the the tunnel. I don't know if the 30cc is built the same as the 100cc but I think it would be wise to check , better to buy a bit of covering now than a whole plane later.on the up side it's a great flying plane and I am sure you will love it .
