I'd like to build a SPAD called the Dogfighter. The guys in Rona and Home Depot couldn't help with the PVC gutter pipe.

Do any of you SPADers / Combat guys out there know where to get this stuff from?

Did you try Home Depot? Is it the square that you want?

Duh!! Just saw you struck out at Home Depot.

Can you get to the airport in The Peg on the 26th? I expect to be there in the afternoon or evening. I have a 49" piece you can have.

After that it may not be until early Feb that I am there again.

That'd be two planes! Any chance you can pop it in the mail / courier of your choice? I'd be more than happy to pay you for the pipe and shipping / handling.

I probably could. Check out what Canada Post calculator would be from K0A 2R0. If it is a bit pricey I can just carry it on the plane when I go there. Maybe if it was cut into two 24 1/2 inch pieces it would be less.

Funny you are looking for the pipe. I was looking for a while last year for it, then found a piece in the dump. Brown in color, but it was it. You may try looking there as well. I do agree that nobody local in Winnipeg has it, in stock anyways. I had just recently seen a S.P.A.D. online with the 'fancy' ribbed all over pipe. There was no complaints about it that I remember. Just didn't look right. I may also have a local 2mm coro supplier as well if you need.

It was available a couple of years ago at a Home Hardware store in Cambridge Ont. Maybe you can get it as a special order still from a Home Building Centre. I got mine at Home Depot in Waterloo quite a while ago. I only got one piece, and since then they don't carry it anymore. Again maybe you can special order it. If not, you can just fold it up from 4mm coro and put in a bulkhead to firm it up.

Re: Source for 2 3/8" Cdn Gutter pipe in Winnipeg?

So that'd be basically 5" x 2.5" x 24.5" if it was zipped in half and taped together And weight would be what, about 1.5 lb max with the tape and label? That's $14.87 shipped regular parcel post. I'd be happy to paypal you $25.00 for the shipping and your troubles.

That said, I can probably meet you on the 26th when you're coming through too. Whichever you'd prefer.

We had a fellow here just do a Gnat (rails) for combat. He got the coroplast from the local sign guy. I'm pretty sure he said he had both 2 and 4 mm.

He's gonna need someone to dogfight, though so I'd like to try a gutterpipe plane. The guys flying combat at Gimli this year looked like they were having a real hoot.

I've got a cousin who owns a Home Hardware in a smaller town. I've sent him an email. More ideas. That's a good thing, thanks!
