Well, i've still got this Kit. I also have the Spitfire kit if anyone is interested in this one. i also have a number of other planes that my father had that i won't be able to finish.
a good number of them are built wings so shipping is really an option on these. i'll create a new thread for those ones. they are all new and are cessnas, cubs, beaver, p51,etc.

This is a great flying model - here's a pic of mine from ages ago...
Surprised it hasn't been snapped up!

Re: Dave Platt Models FW190 D-9 KIT

I didn't have any interest and just left the thread. I don't think there are any builders left so I'm not surprised really. Yes you read 2012 correctly!
I think it would be about $30 to ship according to their site.

Re: Dave Platt Models FW190 D-9 KIT

No, no, no! We builders are still out here!
So this isn't the plane on David's current website as that one has a 79 inch wingspan. Must be one of the older kits? Is this considered a short kit? Maybe Mike can comment. I haven't had the privilege of building a Platt kit yet.
Also, you made a comment about a spitfire kit that you have. Can you give me some details?

Re: Dave Platt Models FW190 D-9 KIT

Hey Justin , this looks to be the 65" kit. Pica later took the kit and sold it as theirs but it was a Dave platt design. Everything I have read from others have nothing but good things to say about the flying on this plane. Flies like a pattern plane. I have one 90% done and thinking about going electric with it . Plus I have a 2nd one new in box. Mine are picas with 63" wing span. If I can get my airplane A.D.D under control may get the t done in the next 5 years. The only negative is the elevators are flat . Where the top flite .60 feet 190d is airfoiled elevator. That's the change I would make. Plus the gun hood and cowl pica/platt way more scale.
Great price great plane . Almost bought it. But I have 3 of them already plus a ESM Fw 190.
Good buy for some one.
Joe

Re: Dave Platt Models FW190 D-9 KIT

Yes these are true Platt kits back from the day they were made into kits...It is a full kit, not a short kit. I'll take a pic of the Spitfire as well. The specs on the kit is in the first pic of the FW. Thanks for the interest. Sure hope someone can build these!

Re: Dave Platt Models FW190 D-9 KIT

Here',s my Pica 190, Webra 61, Rhom retracts, flew great as do all 190s seem to. Long forward legs and large wheels no problem on grass runways. Sold it to a guy in Sandruski MI many years ago.

What an amazing plane! Thanks for all the info.

Once I hear back on the spitfire, we can talk.
