I am currently working on a lens for landing lights on the Apprentice. The locations are on the wing where the wing steps back. I am planning on carrying the front section profile out length ways with a curved lens (same profile as wing) and either rounding it down with a spherical contact with set back profile. Another option would be just to end it of with side wall profile glued at 90 degrees to the lens. It all depends if my friend can get the profile out of a vacuum box and the molded profile I sanded out of a block of wood.
I also looked at cutting a plastic shampoo bottle up which has part of the shape I am trying to get and using it as a started material for molding and using a heat gun on it and the carved molding. This works but it will take a few tries to get the heat just right.

Re: Canopy and window material

The post I made earlier ended up to be the easiest method for landing light lenses. Nothing else worked anywhere near as nice.
I know there's money in aviation........I put it there!
