Hanger 9 Pulse XT new stab and rudder with Saito 115

I currently have hanger 9 pulse xt, i think its the most relaible flyier in my fleet, but ive heard all the bad things about the rear stabs coming apart on the pulse xt's, and seen the pictures to prove it. So this winter i decieded to strip the girl down for a new covering scheme and inspect air frame for damage.
I found the rear stab coming apart ei.. glueing coming apart, balsa cracked. So i decieded to completely scrap the tail assembly and go big! I have a old extra 300 tail and its engine a Saito 115 from an old nose over crash would fit. Currently in the process of modding the extra's stab and rudder to fit the pulse. I figured the extra control surface area would help with rolls and knife edges. The orignal rear stab is wider by 1.5" but the extra's control surf is huge compared to it.
Any tips, advice, or ideas to make this go smother?
