Alberta / Saskatchewan.... hold a race

If you are interested in trying some pylon racing at your club, but don't know how to start, or your club is looking for ways to make a few dollars, read on.

The CPPRA (Canadian Prairie Pylon Racing Association) will hold a race at your field and you keep the profit. Each racer pays typically $50 / day to race. Depending on the time of year, your location, and the classes raced the number of racers will be from 12 - 20, plus throw in some of your local go-fast boys, and your club can make a few bucks.

The CPPRA has a portable, state of the art, lighting system to help run the race, your club needs to supply the field and field crew.

Why are we doing this? One reason ...... we hope that with exposure we can get a few more guys hooked on racing, the more the better.

We have guys that travel all across Alberta and Saskatchewan to race and have some capacity for perhaps one or two more full races in our district. We race currently at the larger centres that being Calgary, Edmonton, Regina and Saskatoon (Calgary has a dedicated racing field). But if your filed has the capacity we can race all or one of 3 classes;

Electric Formula One.... 160 kph
Glow, Quickee 500...... 200 kph
Glow, Quarter 40........ 300 kph

We will travel to race.... this year other races in driving range will be in Washington state and Montana, next month racing starts for many of us in Los Angeles to kick the season off with people from around the world.

If you are still reading .... and if you think you are interested let me know and we can discuss the options. Don't wait too long though .... we are already practicing for the season ahead.

see the CPPRA web site for some pictures and statistics.

Hosting a race really is a great way to race some funds for your club.

Feel free to contact the President of the CPPRA at:
Unknown airport with Cessna 150 circling overhead, identify yourself."
