Wow, pretty serious allegations. Is anybody sure that this is the same person?

I would like to know what position M.A.A.C. intends to take inlight of this case. Don't you think they have an obligation to inform it's members that here is a sexual predator within it's organization?

Re: Has this Court case been resolved?

I find this language to be very provocative. You appear to be judge and jury and have made up your mind.

The truth is that a charge has been laid against a 75 year old man for an incident purported to have occurred some 30 odd years ago. Nothing has been proven.

Until such time as the facts are established and a case is tried and adjudicated and all appeals have been exhausted can you honestly ask the question of MAAC. Until then this is very much like "muck raking" and is beneath the members of this wonderful hobby.

Jack Higgins.

Re: Has this Court case been resolved?

Unfortunately Jack police don't lay charges without a chance of a conviction which tells me they believe the case has merit.

I would think that Mr. Humphreys at the very least should resign his position with MAAC till his case is heard and dealt with as would happen with most organizations.

Does anybody know if he is still the MAAC FAI Committee chair? It's possible MAAC has already quietly done the right thing regarding this terrible situation.

One last thing Jack, 30 hours or 30 years does not change the crime.

I also would be quick to say that shouldn't be seen as an admission of guilt.

There is due process in the legal system for a reason. While police forces aren't in the habit of laying charges they don't thing are valid, the conviction rate in sexual assault cases is roughly 50% in adult court and still only 63% in youth court.

I'm sure Sharpy will tell you that being innocent and being found not guilty by a court of law are sometimes two different things - and that may be true in some cases - but the reality is that false accusations are made and charges are laid against innocent people on a regular basis. Re: Has this Court case been resolved?

I sure would not call it a regular basis and charges laid 30 years later are even more infrequent.
I'm glad for MAAC sake he has stepped down.
