Thanks for the input everyone. I flattened the wing by cutting out the center 5 inches. Not sure I would do that again as keeping the knife perpendicular to the wing and straight across is to much for my limited carpentry skills. Also I am wondering if with floats on the plane if the shortened wing will provide enough lift to still fly at a nice slow speed. Guess I will see.
I am still debating just leaving the ailerons the way they are or trying to patch things up.
