**New** 50cc Checkmate from Aero-Works

Had my name on the Pre Order List for this kit , when the container came in Jan. to Aero-Works . They shipped it to my door last week

Specifications

---- Wing Span
Top 70in.
Bottom 68in.
--- Length -- 64in. ( rudder to front of spinner )
--- Wing Area -- 1525 sq. in.
--- Weight -- 16.5 - 18 lb's
--- Cowl Width -- 10in.
--- Power -- 50 - 60 cc

If you have ever got a Aero-Works kit , then you know how good they are packed !! ( double boxed with a liner around all the edges ) and everthing in packages of bubble wrap.

The covering was very nice ( very little to do with the iron ) and the cowl paint matches very well. (have always liked a checkers theme on a plane) I have had some questions asked about , so thought i would show some pictures of it . I have it about half built and looking forward to this one this coming summer .

Re: **New** 50cc Checkmate from Aero-Works

Hi Roger;

Yes the wings are one piece . The bottom one has two dowls on the front, then two bolts that holds the wing up at the back. The landing gear is fairly tall and you can put the wing on fairly easy , but yes you are right , tipping it on it's nose would be better.

I got wing bags for them

Yes --- the cowl is large is (10 in wide ). I will be putting a D.A. 50 in it . Aero-Works sells a custom wrap around pitts muffler for this kit . ( as soon as you say custom ,the price go up as you can see in picture )

Re: **New** 50cc Checkmate from Aero-Works

Great looking plane Ray , I guess there is a advantage with the one piece wings ,you can build the plane lighter without the wing tubes. I just ordered one with the 5 piece wing where the top center section stays attached to the plane. and the wings come off in 4 panels . I will post mine when it comes in so we can compare .mine is the yellow and black bulldog scheme . I look forward to your build .Roger

Thanks Brad, I think it will show up well in the sky

Finished the tail , rudder and stab all with 30min epoxy. : I installed the lower wing to get the stab all square with it. Got the elevator and rudder servo's (HiTec) and linkage all done .

50cc . I am going to use the EME 60, they seem to be torque engines , they should work well with the higher drag of the biplane.

anyway keep up the good work ,looking good. Roger
