I believe it. Epoxy & carpenter's glues are often more durable than the materials we're bonding. Don't know how CA compares.

The only hardware store epoxy I use with any faith is JB Weld. The other stuff has never worked well for me. The LHS stuff has been fine. Mostly though, I use West Systems - I have some large containers of the stuff from building high-power rockets.

Re: Epoxy

For epoxy West System and Z-Poxy for me. Yellow Carpenter Glue and
Weldbond are all my favorites. They are for giant scale models.
I have a 1/3 scale Jungmeister (built in 1980s) still going strong with
a Quadra engine.
Ambroid Cement was go at one time but I think with many corporations
change overs; the original recipe has just about disappear and you could
probably drink it now with no ill effect.
Kit builders are a dying breed

Re: Epoxy

I am with you 100% Gary ,glue is no place to go cheap. I have purchased good epoxy in the little pump bottles before at a Toledo but I have never been able to find it again, it even smelled like west system . you can find west system at any home hardware , mind you it's very expensive, even for a small kit it's in the $60 range , it costs $15 just for the pumps. the fast cure sets up in 3 hrs or so and the long cure will take a full 24 hrs to set. Funny when I started out years ago I was so impatient all I could use was CA and 5 min , now it's carpenters and west I must be getting old LOL. .
