Re: slightly used JR9303

It is all installed in an XP9303 casing. Tried it tonight with Phoenix and it seems 100%.
Re-calibrated and all.
Even after extensive cleaning, it smells a little bit of burnt plastic, but it adds to its turbulent past. It survived HELL !

JR can take the HEAT !

Hey, I could write a horror story for Futaba users, from which they will not survive.

It must be late, Good night.

Re: slightly used JR9303

I cant believe you got it working again, it looked like it was done for good!
would you trust it enough on the field or are you just going to use it for the sim?

Re: slightly used JR9303

The casing on the original picture showed that the bottom part had not collapsed by the heat. So there was a pretty good chance that the electronic was not affected. Most electronic parts can be stored at 85c and up to 105c.
Upon dis-assembly, they were no burnt traces on the Pcb's and they were not warped.

I will use it on the Sim for a while and see what happens. If there are no glitches, I will try it on a foamy and so on....................

Re: slightly used JR9303

I was about to pull the post thinking it was a joke.

Someone in QC bought it? It must have cost him more to ship it. LOL!

Craig how much damage to your house? Were you charging the radio at the time or wa it something else that was the source of the fire and the 9303 was just an innicent bystander?

Hope you and your family were OK!
