If you want to run in the 1/12th scale pan car class you can't run a 2s lipo by their rules (or most places). It's rare to see a 2s 1/12th scale class, almost everyone runs 4 cell nixx or 1s lipo. Even on 1s, with a 10.5T brushless motor the car will be FAST.
Based on their rules the only class you could run in is the "run what you brung", and a relatively fragile car (1/12th scale pan cars aren't known for their durability) probably won't survive too well in a class with bigger and heavier cars being driven by beginners.
IMO, the best bet for you would be to sell this car and pick up a touring car. It'll run WAY better in an open parking lot than a small pan car will and that track has a 17.5 2s class for touring cars.
You might also want to email them, the class listing is from 2010/2011. Another page also mentions the Tamiya Mini class, which is a really good introductory class as well.
