Re: Good retirement home layout

A bungalow with the downstairs finished with a walk out basement, full workshop, 3 pc bath, family room with a fireplace, lots of storage, upstairs with a nice eat in kitchen, eat at counter, master bedroom with ensuite bath, guest bathroom, den/guest bedroom.

Oh Yeah! An attached by a breezeway, 3 pc heated and ac, serviced, garage. Urinal installed.

Did I mention a hidden wall safe jammed with untraceable $100 bills.

That would work.

Re: Good retirement home layout

My parents moved to a "plus 50" complex where my dad has access to a huge community woodworking shop! These types of places are available but you do have to look!

Re: Good retirement home layout

the less steps, the better, but I like the walkout basement idea.

Re: Good retirement home layout

Double doors or a large sliding door from the walk out so you can get the planes out without snmashing the tail.

Re: Good retirement home layout

I have seen a hobby room that was 30" higher than the Garage/breezeway slab. With an overhead door so you can place your airframes on the floor. Open the door, and carry then to the truck/trailer. The Hobbyroom may have to be on the garage side of the 2hr fire wall. Easy enough to do. But the single car insulated overhead door works well.
Hope this helps, Dale.

Re: Good retirement home layout

Walk out from the a/c/heated shop to a 40 acre putting green without the nasty little holes and flags
