Thanks stikflyer for the links, I wrote Allan T. (LINK HERE) about the Optic-5 and he confirmed it will work well as a slave for the A-9 and uses the same type of stereo plug, also, phoned Hitec who confirmed same.
Optic-5 seems like a great little stand-alone radio, buddy box, and comes with a Minima 6T Micro Receiver for $90.
Ive flown but I can't fly...yet!
