I put an Ammo 36-56 1800kv motor in my Dogfighter after hearing that someone has did it with GREAT speed... My worry is the prop size, all it says, and all I can find on the internet is the prop size suggestion is from 10x7 to 18x?? and I'm running a 4S 2200mah which this motor is rated 4s and up so I'm guessing I should be running a 10x7 or something close, I put a 12x8 and the motor ran but it heated up to the point where I can barely touch it for 2 or 3 seconds with out it burning my finger, lots of torque, wondering what I could do to cool it down? Running a 100amp phoenix castle, seems to be doing the job. I figured if I run a bigger prop it will run slower, but the motor manual says a smaller prop will draw less current thus run cooler. Should I run a 10x7?
Also I got a flight time of only 3 - 4 minutes which is understandable because of the power it's taking but I can barely fit in a larger battery... ALso this motor and esc combo makes the plane really heavy, could barely land it with out it nose diving when the battery ran down...
Has anyone had experience with these motors? I really need some advice... Any info would help! I want my dogfighter to run SUPER SONIC!!!
