I need to build, can't get into ARFs. I just sold an ARF Corsair, it was a great deal when I bought it, flies perfectly, but just no real emotional attachment to it, because I didn't build it I guess, just assembled.

The Aviation Museum at Shearwater has a huge library, and it's all planes. Tons of info, sqn signal books, walk arounds, you name it. Best thing is, it's a public library, anyone can sign out books. I've got unlimited access, so I can go down on a Sunday morning, have the entire museum to myself, sit in a comfy chair, and read. Love it.

Re: Top Flite P-39, Gold Edition

Dear Dave: FYI canopies no longer available from TF but probuilder sells them. I bought one as a spare as I have two kits. They do good work.

Re: Top Flite P-39, Gold Edition

Gosh. I have one still in the box. The original version.
Was on my "I'll eventually get this one done" list.
But years keep going by and other priorities keep getting in the way. Maybe when I retire?
I wonder if I will ever get at it. I wish I could build like Dave!

In the meantime I am happy to watch other builders progress to keep me inspired

Re: Top Flite P-39, Gold Edition

I'm still really interested in this design.

I have a set of the red box plans, but not the new version.

Max, confirm yours is the redbox version?

Greg, can you please provide more info on the source for canopies? I may need to get one...

Thanks,

Wayne

Yes, its definitely red box. Bought before the gold edition ever came out.

Re: Top Flite P-39, Gold Edition

I tried a google search for probuilder, no luck. Checking Fiberglass Specialties next.

Re: Top Flite P-39, Gold Edition

Fiberglass Specialties has the cowls for both the red box, and gold edition, doesn't look like they have the canopies for either.
