Another mod I made (there were only a couple) was how the wings are attached. The stock setup has you slide the wing tube through the fuse and bolt into it out in the wing. I need to transport and store the model without the wings or the tube installed and figured it would be cumbersome to try to locate those small holes in the tube each time.

So I installed a blind nut into the wing panel root and bolt through the opening in the retract well. I needed to put a stop at the end of the wing tube sleeve so the wing tube can't slide into one or the other panel. This is essentially how my Futura is done and it works well.

Re: Aviation Design - Scorpion

One other little tidbit in the painting process. The Swiss scheme had red tips on the stabs and wings. Before (this is key) priming the model I made some simple templates so I could duplicate them on my scheme without a lot of measuring, etc. it also ensures that both sides and top and bottom are consistent. I did the same for the fins.

And over the primer. I actually didn't use it at this point, rather did after the yellow was sprayed. The template showed me where to mask off the yellow area outboard.

That's true, I'm glad I took up smoking.
I duplicated the setup I have in my Futura.

Re: Aviation Design - Scorpion

Got the last of the checks done today. Still need to polish and wax it but ill likely get it flown first.

Here are a few, more pics (realized I hadn't posted one of the bottom). Got the canopy painted and installed inside the frame, and also got the labeling done on the service tray.
