Not wild about this scheme on the hunter but it sure looks cool on the scorpion!
No, it's not mine.

Re: Aviation Design - Scorpion

Being in the final stages of this project, before I did any clean-up of the wiring / tubing, I purged the fuel system and got the Kingtech140 running.

Per the video, here's the first run of Peter's KingTech140

Pay close attention to the video at the 46sec mark, LOL!! I had the smoke oil flow rate so high that a little pooled in the pipe and then combusted... scared me soo much I nearly dropped the camera, LOL I then cut back on the flowrate and all was well.

What a nice running turbine... tons of thrust and a nice sound (I don't think the camera appreciated the sound, LOL)

And nothing else smokes like a turbine

Re: Aviation Design - Scorpion

Last project was to "blingify" the interior and clean it up a bit.

There are two plates - one for the CockpitSRS and the rear plate for the switch, air/fuel fills and shutoff valve. In between is a coverplate on a hinge with a single screw... Underneath is the ECU (to plug in the data-terminal if need be) and charge/balance leads as well as the control valve for the brakes and the JetTronic valve for the airbrakes.

It's time for a MAIDEN

It is pretty cool, saw it on Facebook and had to share it. Maybe Peter will paint another in his free time.

I got the color on Thursday and Friday and a coat of clear. I had a couple issues that I hope to correct tomorrow and if all goes well I can bring it home Tuesday to continue on. My goal is to have it flying by the 17th.....

The smoke looks great. I recently took up smoking and love it! LOL. My Futura puts out nice smoke (super dri fluid and PB smoke pump) that I'm duplicating the same setup in my scorpion.

Nice install! Peter will be really pleased, and should he be able to pry it back from you maybe we can get him burning more kero this summer!

Re: Aviation Design - Scorpion

Great shots of the Futura!! I love the smoke... that should be mandatory in biplanes and jets
