I just finished assembling my first aplha 40 trainer plane, everything went smooth until i came to the throttle servo which doesnt or barely move when connected to the pushrod. It works fine unhooked but as soon i connect the pushrod everything stops.
I was wondering if i need stronger servo for throttle and which one that is not too expensive should i get

Re: Throttle servo

Hi Daniel:

It sounds like your control rod might be binding somewhere.

Try moving the rod by hand and see if it is binding.

Re: Throttle servo

Dennis probably nailed it.
Push rod should move freely end to end ..... make sure the carb venturi opens and closes all the way .... if not play with the throttle stop if there is one ....

Any old servo should be able to do the job ..... no real need for anything hi-torque ....

Re: Throttle servo

Engine carb can also be gummed up. When checking for throttle rod freeplay, in addition to the binding of the rod, check the carb itself. If it is gummed up and sticky, a try a drop of oil or two in the carb barrel and work it in by hand.
