Not me, but it looks like a winner! Perhaps a good candidate for a 12 blade 70mm conversion too.

Re: Hobby King Vampire

I have a friend who has one, flies well, however the landing gear don't stand up to grass landings. He also had to stiffen up the tail supports. It is slow for an EDF so a good entry plane into EDF's. I have a couple of Hobby King EDF's, don't be surprised if a servo doesn't work. It is best to test the electronics BEFORE assembling the model in case you need to return it. It is cool to watch with the retracts...

Re: Hobby King Vampire

+1 on the landing gear. After they got damaged, it was all hand launch and belly landings. Elevator is a bit touchy so make sure you do not put too much throw on yours.

Also, a little bit of expo on the elevator seems to make it fly a lot smoother around center stick.

Re: Hobby King Vampire

Had to replace the retracts on mine to the next better quality from HK. Also the ESC toasted on the first flight. Replaced it with a Turnigy plush. Worked great on our grass field for about a yr with no problems till a batt failure put her in. Flew with a scale like speed. Vampire was the first full sized jet I'd ever seen. Wasn't fast for a jet but was awsome. Since then, bought the Dehaviland Vixen from HK. Flew great out of the box. I did paint it a different colour as I was losing orientation with the dark blue. A little more poop than the Vampire as it takes off in about 60 ft on grass. If it wasn't for this plane I would have bought another Vampire.
