What happens when the starter dies and it's way to hot to hand prop.

OK, it's full-size but aren't some of our models getting to be this size?

An idea to keep in your back pocket for when all else fails.

Wow! Is it just me or is that a really bad thing waiting to happen? Obviously works though and when you have to spray that next field I guess you do what you have to do! LOL

I guess what would concern me more is what other maintenance they may be lacking if this is how they operate ?

Re: OT Video: Sure beats hand-propping.

When I was a kid I remember the first three horsepower Briggs and Straton engine we had, used a hub with a notch in it and a rope as a starter. The Kohler 12 HP engines had new technology, a Starter/Generator, but backed it all up with a rope pull option.

Even had a Labourdini Diesel engine that had a starter, decompression and a rope pull option. In agriculture, often batteries fail due to vibration. As a matter of fact no one will warrant a battery used on a grain auger. Not saying that guys plane battery was weak/dead, a spray plane without a functional charging system is a dead bird. No avionics, GPS..... likely a bad starter or starter solenoid.

Good on them for going old school to get the bugger running, we all don't live 3 blocks from the parts store.
