Hey every one I'm looking to join a local flying club and have been looking at getting the eflite taylorcraft 450 it is electric but I'm afraid it may be too small. What are you opinions on the matter?

Re: club worthy plane

That would be fairly average size for what I see at our club. It is no by no means small.

Electric flying is pretty much seeing how close to a dead short you can run without setting it on fire.

Re: club worthy plane

Great plane! I have been wanting one ever since I saw one at our club.

Speaking of which, our club welcomes micro electrics to giant one seems to care what you fly as long as you are flying!

Some clubs may specialize in racing or scale, or whatever but I would hope all general clubs accepting new members would welcome any flier regardless of what they fly as long as it was airworthy and flown safely.....

just my 2 cents
Did you see that........I actually meant to do that...

Re: club worthy plane

Seeing that yhou're from Mississauga, you've got a good choice of three clubs in the area and all a fairly short drive away (there are a couple others, but \I've not had personal experience with them).

Juding from what you sid, I'm assuming that you're a beginner who needs instruction and not an experienced flier who's gone through the Wings program.

Drop by the club with a printed copy of the basic model description and talk to the Chief Flying Instructor or the equivalent post, and get their opinion. Also, ask for the name of an instructor who does electric and arrange with them for instruction. Saves the hassle of showing up at "student night" or whenever and taking your turn with another fifteen students or worse.
