Thanks for the post, MRK, but it's really old news. I live in the area and Transport Canada was taking this very seriously and interviewing the clubs that are on the final approach glidepath to Buttonville. From what I understand, the clubs involved also posted notices to all of their members.

Odds are that the flyers are "rogue" -- either not members of any club or just don't give a toot abut the rights of others and the MAAC Safety Code WRT yielding to full-sized aircraft.

Actually, the question originally raised was whether or not there is a maximum altitude for RC flight in Canada.

Answer is (to summarize previous posts) no effective limit, but is subject to line-of-sight (being able to see the aircraft and to guide it safely), and yielding airspace to full-size aircraft.

MAAC doesn't suck the joy out of the hobby, it merely gives guidelines on what is acceptable to our insurers and Transport Canada, under whose rules we operate model aircraft.
