Fullhouse Glider practice on Real Flight

As much as l like Real Flight flight sim to fly different models on rainy days, the thing I missed the most was to be able to fly full house glider with sailplane mode setup: flaps on throttle stick, throttle on a switch for ALES. This would be great for anyone who wants to try this type of control without having to program their own gliders, just to try it, since many power pilots just insist that throttle has to be on the throttle stick no matter what, but in sailplane world, this has not been so for many years.
I have programmed a glider in Real Flight with marginal success since I am not ready to spend many hours to figure out the software but it kind of worked. It is not exactly intuitive.
Well, trolling the RC Groups one lunch hour at work (honest just lunch hour ) I found this thread by Curtis Suter who has done this work for us already. He created a model of Supra, he calls Red Merle, one for thermal practice and one for ALES practice and modified the Thermal park fields with his idea of thermals and with Drela’s third vector idea of finding thermals. He explains it in the post. He also explains how to setup timer for timed practice and provides landing tape for landings in the software. I must say, I find it a great trainer for sailplane flying especially now that the transmitter controls feel just like mine. There are also recommendations on DLG practice there.
Give it a try if you have Real Flight!
