Wings Over Gatineau, reminder & tips

Since many of us forget things I thought I'd put this reminder up and add some tips based on last years event. The event info is here.
And one of the tabs has show info including a link to what you can bring & what you can't. Coolers & alcohol are not allowed but food & drinks are. Worth reading the full list if you're going.
Also note that when you arrive in the area you'll be directed to the fields where there's free parking & free bus service to & from the event. There are also teams of volunteers in the parking areas & often at the bus stops who will do your admission stuff right there. If you decide to pay on line & print the ticket (like I did last year) it's not as simple once you get there as just doing it in the parking area.
Photographers, remember to use shutter speeds no higher than 1/400 for the prop planes BUT above 1/1000 for the jets. Panning skills are important when it comes to the prop planes & engine speeds are lower on landings. Lower shutter speeds = nicer prop blur so try your best if you normally rely on Auto or Program. Controlling your shutter speed is the right way to shoot prop planes but Program "might" get decent results for the jets. Full scale heli's (there weren't any last year) require VERY low shutter speeds but at least the usually travel slower too.
If you like Warbirds this should be an excellent way to spend the day or weekend. Last year the Snowbirds & CF 18 Demo Team were there but I don't think they are on this years schedule. You can check what should be flying by clicking the "performing aircraft" tab.
