Smoke pump wiring

Got a smoke pump in an airplane I'm setting up for a friend. I can't find a name on it anywhere and don't know what wires go where. Out the back of the pump are 3 sets of wires.
Female Futaba with 2 heavy duty wires - red and black
Male Futaba with standard 3 wire red/black/white
Multiplex connector with 2 heavy wires purple and red

Any help on where these wires go would be appreciated.

Thanks
Bob

Re: Smoke pump wiring

Hmmmmm.....

I just did a bunch of google searches for smoke pumps and don't remember seeing anything that looked like that. I would guess the multiplex connector is the battery lead but wouldn't assume anything as reverse polarity could let the smoke out in a hurry.

If you can't find the brand, you might be in for a challenge....

Re: Smoke pump wiring

It does look a little like the graupner wiring. They have the power lead, the RX connection, and a third for an optional remote cutoff valve. My suggestion would be to mount it on a test stand and run it with your RX and the battery you intend to power it with. I like to run my whole power system outside the airframe first, tweak the programming, etc then install it. I suspect you only need the power and RX leads.

Re: Smoke pump wiring

So the multiplex plug would be power in, switching on and off and volume done with the 3 wire plug and optional remote switch via the 2 wire Futaba female plug?

Makes sense. I will give it a try outside the plane.

Thanks for the tips. If anyone else out there has one of these and knows for sure, I'd sure like to hear from them.

Cheers
Bob

Re: Smoke pump wiring

I looks like it could be a Jet Central smoke pump. If so, the multiplex is for battery, the male connector goes to the receiver and the female goes to a solenoid.
