Hi all, anybody done the ch ignition conversion on 3w106? I am getting back into the hobby and had ignition problems when I parked my plane.

Re: 3 W 106cs / Ch lgn

Ok, Wingburner asked me to post some pics of the new style CH ign for my
3w 106cs, from Adrian. I ordered a 3w conversion pickup along with the ign. The ignition is set up for 6.6-7.4 volts. Going to try and install this evening.

I hope this isn't breaking any site rules.. as I am not advertising for anybody.. just relating a good experience. Adrian even phoned me and asked me for the details of the my existing system. Very good shipping and shopping experience all the way around.

Re: 3 W 106cs / Ch lgn

Hey Manny,
No I have not found the time to install the ignition yet hopefully tonight. I did however run the 3dub on the old ignition the other day everything ran fine,I was actually surprised the old girl fired up as if it had been run yesterday,, this after three years of no use.

Re: 3 W 106cs / Ch lgn

Well a little disappointed here today, finally got around to changing out the
3W ignition for the ch today....well I built my timing wheel and pointer etc. got all set up and no spark... tried a few more times and no spark. Only took me a few seconds to realize the pick up adapter was not reaching far enough out into the hub to center over the magnets. Bummer.
I have emailed Adrian to see if he can have another one down to my Montana house by the weekend. I sure hope he can.
