EF1 Racing in Calgary, winter season opener

The regular season racing of Q40 and Q500 has come to an end so it was once again time to start the winter racing series, as such the EF-1 opener kicked off Sunday September 29 with both Club 20 and EF1 flown in alternating races. The day started out windy with gusts of 45km/hr in the early hours diminishing to light winds in the afternoon, but other than difficult cadence heading to #1 all planes survived but one.
I had my full telemetry package on board my ARF Shoestring and showed 137 KM ground speed via GPS and 105km/hr air speed with the pitot tube and HTS-AS air speed indicator. What a great day, we knocked off 6 rounds and are scheduled to fly again Oct. 20 at the CMPRA field south east of Calgary. Any new flyers interested in EF1 pylon racing let me know, we are interested in helping new flyers get started racing in the Calgary area.
