Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

ROTFLMAO!! Just caught up.

Ya - I've thought through my past experiences, then read a ton on the internet and I've concluded after serious research that I'm going to sell my GP123 and buy another DA120. Might even sell the GP61. They are boring, and all I do is put gas in them and fly. Very disappointing because I no longer have an excuse to not be in the air.

And those MKS777 servos - too good of value for the $106.00 pricetag, so no longer interested.

Sorry for all the hype guys... I've turned over a new leaf today and changing my ways.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Got a pre-event flight in today between the howling wind and pourin' rain. So far I've seen two DA and one MVVS. Kinda ashamed that the EME120 is the loudest of the bunch!

But that all said my old plane probably isn't worth the exhaust system on those birds..... But it flew without any knee knockin'!

Funny I had 2 guys spotting for me, must have figured I may take off back to Saskatchewan!

Congrats Brent! We've actually found the EME120 mufflers are very quiet. Jim (scaleguy) had a DA100L on DA mufflers in his hyperbipe and we put a set of EME mufflers on and had to cut about 1" off the stacks to get the cowl on and it is significantly quieter. Same compared to the GP stock muffs.

I wonder if your set of muffs has baffling in the bottom like the ones we've seen here.

Weird how your findings are opposite!

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Far be it from me to say anything negative but the MVVS (Spinning a Falcon 28X10)sounded rich and wasn't opening up as far as RPM. He was running mufflers...

The DA170, all you could hear was the Mej 29X12N 3 blade.

I am pretty sure I am running the old DL mufflers, so I didn't have to butcher they cowl of plane ya can't get parts for any more. Might have something to do with having a 120cc engine in a plane built around a 85cc plant!!!!

I can fly the whole IMAC Basic sequence without needing to get much above 1/2 throttle. They score noise, I'm expecting a real low score!!!! Might even volunteer to fly the first flight of the day (never competed before) just to wake up any sleepy heads!!!!
