Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Hey Dale!!! Been off the internet for a few hours so catching up!! That 126" Edge still looks great! That's the one I built for the boys in Edmonton with the DA200 and a pair of RE3 pipes! Sure sounded awesome! Looks like Murray did a great repair job of it after the Edmonton brothers did a number on it!!

Congratulations, I trust all had a good time.

I spoke with Derrick last eve, sounds like he wants to make the FishFly-FunFly this fall. Hope you and Phil join in.
But go fly some now.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Well Desert Aircraft called about my engine. I am a little disappointed, this is the first I've heard from them. He tells me that this is an old engine, they repaired the con rod and vacuum issue. As there was significant wear I got to pay for everything else (cylinder, bearings, carb, crank) they fixed. The carb was even worn!

It burns me that they went ahead and repaired it then called me. I would have had them put it in the re-cycle bin. According to what they charged me, the parts were cheap. So I have a old engine (by the S/N) that has all new parts except the lower case.

NO MORE USED ENGINES! I'm 2 for 2 for duds. I won't touch another DA, EVER!
