But you pay for that exceptional DA name, right!!

Had you an EME, DLE or GP you would have been flying in a few days. Then again they aren't as shiny

Thanks for sharing Brent... This is what sets the motors apart
I also get to pay the return shipping! Which he hadn't figured out yet. I bet, just to cap it all off, Customs will hold it for a while and try to charge me duty!!!!!

I did give him a bit of a shock though. I told him if they'd of called/e-mail/faxed me I'd of told them to chuck it, well you could of heard a pin drop, and had to ask if was still there! Hope they remember to put my ignition in the box...... 'Tis the last work day of the work week and they're celebrating Independence Day!

I'm still a little surprised at what he called wear. Seemed to have as much (maybe more) than my DLE55.

Guess this puts an end to plan of owning anything over 35%. China doesn't build much of anything over 120cc, and Europe, forget about it.

No but why does DA rebuild a complete motor that's been worm burned into the ground for free and then the next guy needs warranty work and gets charged?

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

DLE makes a 170, and 222.
GP makes a 176 (best bang for your buck)

Hope this helps.

Ohh and I know of another. No names involved. A well used and im mean pink cylinder DA-170 got sent back for updates and a freshening up. All bearings two new cylinders and pistons and free of charge. And the current owner of this motor was not the original owner either.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Brent, your choice of multiple Ct 170's and a 222! Spin the wheel!!

Your DA 50 will be worth more when you're done with it and nearly impossible to sell!!

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Well Jack, I wasn't aware of the internal state of this engine. Knowing that 1 of the major issues was a warrantee, I believed it best not to tear the thing apart. Like I said the compression was good, it spun a 23X8 Mej at 6900 rpm......

But when there is more space for your contact info than space to tell 'em what the issues are, I expected some sort of contact.

Send it to you Jack, Ha! Now that's funny! I probably get stuck with that shipping bill, and you'd want .......
